Climate Resilient Homes and Communities for Europe: Working Together for a Just Transition

European Summer School for Early-Career Professionals

We welcome young, early-career, and any professionals ready to explore what the transition to a circular and climate-friendly economy means for affordable housing provision within a highly participatory and international setting.

Each year young and early-career housing professionals from all over Europe come to Bochum to address current challenges for the social housing sector with leading international academic and housing sector experts. Develop new ideas and concepts in interactive workshops, see real-life examples in field visits, meet fellow housing professionals from other European countries, and build up your personal European network.

What does the “climate crisis” mean for our housing stock? How can we build sustainable housing that supports the transition to a circular economy? What are the implications for affordability and for our tenants? These and many other questions will be discussed in the 2020 edition of the European Summer School.

Participate in the European exchange of best practices and innovative approaches. Four exciting and instructional days are waiting for you in Bochum! Stay tuned for the full programme!

"The Summer School 2019 was a great expierience for me. Four days full of versatile presentations from experts all over Europe, a very interesting excursion to the beautiful city of Cologne and many good conversations with young professionals from other European countries made the 2019's summer school so special to me. I definitely would recommend to take a part."
